As a teacher of reading teachers I was especially interested in this article. The main idea is that more research needs to be done concerning how much the format matters in the readers comprehension of what they read. According to studies at this time, it seems that format does not matter much for beginning readers and readers who are skimming the reading material. However, at this time studies lean toward the the format making a difference in detailed comprehension of what is read.
