I celebrated Derek's birthday with him in the Albany Area.  We went to the Tattered Pages Used Bookstore and got to pet the greeter dog.  We also ate a picnic lunch in an enclosed outside area between the Albany Visitors' Center and the Planetarium.  The weather was beautiful and we got to drive around the Albany area a little bit.  As always, it was wonderful to be able to spend the day with Derek.

I also was treated to a wonderful meal by Rachel and Jon for Mother's Day at River Station Restaurant in Poughkeepsie, New York. We ate on the outdoor deck with a beautiful view of the Hudson River traffic as well as the Mid-Hudson Bridge and the Walkway Over the Hudson.  The food was delicious and then we walked over the old railroad bridge which is now a very popular pedestrian bridge.  The weather was perfect for great views of the Hudson River. We took the glass elevator up to the bridge, had a drink after walking over the Hudson River, then took the elevator back down to the lovely park on the Poughkeepsie side of the river. It was a great day!
