VIII by H. M. Castor
I enjoy reading about British history but become confused by the timeline and royalty. This young adult historical fiction book solved that problem for me because of its organization and interesting details. I recommend this book for students in high school as part of their social studied/literature curriculum.
The Inquisitor's Tale, Or, The Three Magical Children and Their Holy Dog by Adam Gidwitz
This is an historical fiction book with "Author's Note: Where Did This Story Come From?" that explains what is true, what came from stories, and what the author made up. I enjoyed this section and found the Annotated Bibliography helpful as well.
