Places Visited
Derek and I went to the Florida Bakery/Deli in Florida, New York. We each got a sausage and pepper sandwich plus a half-loaf of poppy seed straight from the oven. The food was so good that I took my mother there the next week!
Rachel and Jon showed us around their homestead where we got to see their animals, including sheep, bees, chickens, bunny, bees, cats and, of course, Scruffy! They also have done a lot of planting which is coming along fine despite the wind. After looking around, we we all went to Gibby's Diner in Quaker Street, New York. The diner has been open since 1963 and is known for its grilled cinnamon rolls. I can see why! We split two rolls and then each ordered a breakfast. Everything was delicious!
I spent a weekend with Brian, Bea and Noah. We took Noah to gym class at the local Y and then to Johnson's Farm where we got to pick blueberries, strawberries and peas. The next day we went to Camden Aquarium and we even walked on the new shark bridge!
Derek came home for a few days to help my mother get settled in the Enriched Housing Unit of Glen Arden. We looked at RVs of various types at a sales place in Latham, New York, then ate lunch at Juicy Burger in Albany, New York. As always, it was great to spend time with him!
