April 2017
Places Visited
Brian, Bea, Noah and I went to Baltimore, Maryland to Port Discovery, a children's museum at the Port of Baltimore, where we spent the morning. They had a huge variety of activities for young children. We then drove on to Columbia, Maryland where we had lunch in a gigantic Wegmans. There were are different types of restaurants plus a place to eat in the grocery store. Next, we drove on to Washington, D.C. and stayed at the Embassy Suites in Georgetown. It was a very nice hotel and we enjoyed the pool and the breakfast the next morning before driving on to the Smithsonian National Zoo. The highlight of the zoo for me was the apes swinging on the lines high above the zoo. For Noah, the highlight was the reptile house. On the way home, we stopped at Fort William McKinley in Baltimore, Maryland for a picnic lunch beside the water. The trees were flowering with pink blossoms and we could watch the ships of all sizes. It was a great trip!
Derek and I had lunch with Rachel and Jon at Isopos Downtown Pizza in Schenectady, NY after Derek's dental appointment. It was a wonderful to see them and catch up with what they are doing. We liked the food and the restaurant is on the Erie Canal path which would be interesting to walk on when the weather is nice.
Rachel, Jon, Derek, and my mother came for Easter dinner. The weather was gorgeous and we had a lovely time enjoying the new blossoms and flowering bulbs, plus playing Aggravation (Rachel won!).
