Places Visited
After a doctor's appointment, Derek and I had brunch at the Western Diner in Albany, New York.
Luckily, the appointment went better than expected so we were able to enjoy a great morning together.
I went to Willingboro, New Jersey and stayed with Brian, Bea, and Noah for a couple of extended weekends. We went to the Philadelphia Zoo one day. The other day we went to a nearby park. It is always great to see them and play with Noah.
Rachel came home for a couple of nights so I got to visit with her.
Brian and Noah also came to visit and we went to Chester Commons, a park near me. We also went to the Chester Library where Noah got two stickers for his reading.
In the morning we stopped to see my mother and then Rachel, Brian, Noah and I drove to Saratoga Springs, New York. On the way we stopped at Forsyth Nature Center in Kingston, New York. They had a variety of animals and and also a playground. After playing, we had a sandwich at Subway where the people were especially nice.
When we got to Saratoga Springs, we walked around the town and Congress Park a little.
Brian, Noah and I stayed in Saratoga Springs a couple of nights at Embassy Suites. The first night we went to Ravenous Creperie upon Rachel's recommendation. It was a very good choice! Brian and Noah went swimming both nights at the hotel.
The next day we picked up Derek in Guilderland, New York and we all went to visit Rachel and Jon in Knox, New York. We had a great time looking around their farm, feeding the chickens, rabbit, and Badger, and playing with Scruffy.
It was Open Farm day so we went to Helder-Herdwyck Farm to see their registered Herdwick sheep and their pigs.
We ended the day by eating a delicious meal in a wonderful setting at Maple on the Lake, in East Berne, New York.
The following day we drove to Masker's Orchard in Warwick, New York to pick apples. It was an exciting experience! We liked it very much although we had not been to anyplace like it.
Brian and Noah went home the next morning. It was a great visit and I feel very fortunate that I was able to see and talk to everyone over the extended weekend.
