Places Visited
Derek and I got to go with my mother to the Pizza Hut buffet in Goshen, New York. We feel lucky that we were able to have lunch with her.
At the end of Derek's visit, we drove to Albany, New York and had lunch with Rachel and Jon. We even got to play a card game with them!
Rachel, Jon, Lauren, Brian, Bea, Noah and I met at the Osaka Japanese Restaurant in Rhinebeck, New York for a delicious lunch. Then we went on the Rhinebeck Airdrome to see the last show of the season. There were old cars, clothes, and planes in the show. There was even an old bike that was ridden on the track. It was a wonderful show on a beautiful fall day. At the end of the show one of the planes dropped pumpkins onto the field and then five planes tried to break helium balloons floating in the sky.
Brian, Bea and Noah stayed over at my house where we played and had dinner. The next morning we ate at iHop, visited Woodbury Commons in Central Valley, the Chester library where Noah put his sticker on the chart showing how many books I have read to him (300) and my mother in Goshen, New York.
It was a full and fun weekend!
My mother and I drove to Saint Thomas Aquinas College so that I knew I could drive there for a conference where I am giving a workshop. I also got to see where the conference and the computer lab I will be using is located. On the way back we ate at the Thai Garden Restaurant. It was a lovely little restaurant and I plan to go there again! We enjoyed the beautiful colors on the trees on our drive.
I was able to attend the Oktoberfest at Glen Arden. It was a nice German lunch with live music!
Rachel and Jon took me for a balloon ride and then out to breakfast! The balloon ride was with Catskill Mountain Balloon, Inc. We left in the morning from the Columbia County, NY airport and saw the sun rise over the Catskill Mountains. It was spectacular! The day was clear and sunny with very little breeze. It started out cold but as soon as the sun came up it was a perfect temperature. The leaves were at their peak color.
After this marvelous balloon ride, they took me to breakfast at a diner in Hudson, NY. It was delicious and I enjoyed being able to have time to talk with them. It was a wonderful day!
My mother and I went Christmas shopping and then had lunch at Jumbo Buffet in Middletown, New York. It was a very nice day and I'm pleased we could go together.
