June 2009
Places Visited
I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. There were several special exhibits that I saw including "The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion" and "Francis Bacon: A Centenary Retrospective" and they were great. However , the part that I enjoyed the most was the new "American Wing". It has, among other things, rooms to view at different periods of American history. It opened May 19, 2009. Afterwards, I ate at Yoshinoya near Times Square and the Port Authority. The food was delicious and the servings were quite large.
I saw Rock of Ages on Broadway. It was interesting and loud!
Rachel and I saw Blithe Spirit on Broadway with one her friends and her friend's parents. Angela Lansbury was in it, as were other famous people that we had seen on TV. Before the show we ate at Carmine's across from the theater. The food was so good that we went back after the show for desert!
I went to Albany, New York to visit Derek and Rachel. We ate at Ferrari's Restorante in Schenectady. We had homemade pasta and sauce which was delicious!
