I feel that as teachers and parents we need to read a variety of books so we can recommend them to children, gain information for ourselves, and model reading habits.  This article has examples of how to make time to read for adults and it can also help adults model the importance of making time to read.

I liked, and agreed with all the ideas in this article.  The one that I find the most helpful in planning lessons is third one, "Provide accommodations for all students."  In my experience, this helps students who may have a learning disability of some kind but have not been classified, students who have mastered the basic concept and are ready to learn more about it, students who need to be motivated to learn in the classroom, as well as the students with diagnosed learning disabilities who are in the general education classroom.  Another advantage that I have seen is that the classroom environment in set up for any student who is new to the class, no matter their needs.   Lastly, for me, was that this type of classroom allowed both teachers and students to experiment, offer suggestions, and sometimes try ideas that did not work.  These are the ideas that often result in the most learning for both students and educators.
