Places visited
I helped Derek get his car fixed. We walked around the area, including the Colonie Mall, then took a pizza, soda and cookies to Rachel and Jon's home for lunch. We got to see their new chickens, their rabbit, cats, and, of course, Scruffy! Their plants were coming up and I had a lovely time seeing everyone!
Brian, Bea, Noah and I spent a long weekend in Baltimore, Maryland. We first visited Fort McHenry. I enjoyed seeing the fort and we got in free on my Senior Park Pass. Next we went to Chipotle's for a takeout meal that we ate in a nearby park. We checked into our hotel and walked along the waterfront. The weather was beautiful so we decided to take a cruise on Baltimore's Inner Harbor. It was an informative tour with a recording explaining the history of many of the things we were seeing. That night we had take out sandwiches from Subway.
The next day was the real reason for our trip to Baltimore. It was "Day Out With Thomas" at the B & O Railroad Museum. We got to take a ride on a train Thomas was pulling and there were many other sites including a miniature train exhibit, the train museum itself, rides perfect for small children, a petting zoo, a hay bale maze, etc. It was so good that after a take out lunch from the Peking House and a nap in the afternoon we went back for another visit!
On the last morning in Baltimore we visited the National Aquarium. It is in a huge building and had a variety of interesting plants and animals.
I visited Derek again later in the month and we drove through Guilderland Center. They were putting in sidewalks but there was no place to eat so we went back to Albany, New York and at at Ted's Fish Fry. We ordered fish and chips. The fish came in a hot dog bun which was a little surprising.
