Noah invited me to visit his classroom and I went with his other grandmother. He had sent us invitations with a picture on the front that he had drawn. The picture he drew for me was of the piano and room where he plays the piano at his house. The day we went to his school Noah did a wonderful job telling us about three things that he has recently learned. It was an interesting and educational day!
Another day I took the bus to New York City to meet with Brian and Noah especially for an Arms and Armory guided tour at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. We met at the new Moynihan Train Hall which used to be the main post office for New York City. It is a marvelous building. We then took the subway to the MET for the tour followed by a delicious pizza lunch nearby. Next, we got ice cream at Venchi before walking through Central Park and to their hotel. After an unplanned trip on the wrong bus, I took the right bus to get home. It was a great day and wonderful to see them both!
There was a program that I attended at the Goshen, New York public library about the Ramapough Indians. Dr. Chuck Stead was the host and told the history of this local indigenous population. It was a very interesting and enlightening talk with both the host and audience members adding to the conversation.
Taran invited me to go on his class fieldtrip to the Via Aquarium in Schenectady, New York. We met Rachel there after walking through the aquarium. Next, we went to the playground at Collins Park, followed by sandwiches and fries at Jumpin' Jacks. Then we went to two swim lessons for Taran at the Goldfish Swim School in Colonie, New York. Taran and I left the swim lessons to come to my house for the weekend. Taran and I talked on the way to my house. After we got to my house, Taran played tanks, ate, and read books. The next morning we played tanks and Spider Wars until Rachel came. It was a rainy day but we still got to shop at Lowe's, visit my mother, eat food we cooked, read books, and generally had a marvelous time. Rachel and Taran stayed overnight and the next morning we plant the seedlings that she started from seed and brought for me as a Mother's Day gift. She gave me seedlings of vegetables that are difficult to find in our area. All of this was especially fun and I enjoyed everything we did very much!
I also went to stay with Taran for a weekend. He was fun to be with as we read books, played with Legos and other toys, ate and generally had a good time on a beautiful weekend. Unfortunately, he didn't feel well at the beginning of the second day, but he felt better by noon that day. We had a lot of fun together!
