I got to see Noah for his fifth birthday! We all ate delicious waffles that Bea made and then played games after opening presents.
Derek and I had a lovely meal with Barbara and Richard at Kelly Jean's in Goshen, New York! We were able to eat outside and enjoy the great spring weather. It was great to see them and to hear about what they are doing.
After a dental appointment, Derek and I ate at Caroline's in the Park in Saratoga Springs, New York. This restaurant is in the Saratoga Spa State Park. We got to eat outside overlooking the pool. The drive through the park was beautiful and we hope to go back and see more of the park another day.
I got to spend a day with Noah playing both inside and outside. We read books, too, and his favorite was Arnie the Doughnut cooked up by Laurie Keller. It was a great day!
Rachel, Jon and I had a dim sum brunch at the Hong Kong Bakery in Albany, New York. It was delicious and the restaurant was very inviting. We then went to the New York State Museum in downtown Albany and enjoyed looking at the exhibits. None of us had been there before and we were impressed with the exhibits and how much information was included in the museum. Lastly, we had a snack at Crossgate's Mall where we got to talk a little more and enjoy the food. It was a great day!
Derek and I went to Glenmere Lake in Florida, New York. It is the lake where Florida gets its water for the town. You can fish and boat, there is a playground, and we walked on a trail. It is also the largest habitat for the Northern Cricket Frog, listed as endangered by the New York Department of Environmental Conservation: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Glenmere-Lake/107595862596794 We had a great time looking around there and then across the street and the Glenmere mansion across the road. We didn't eat or stay there though!
Rachel, Jon, Derek and I met at the Capital City Diner in Albany, New York for breakfast before a medical appointment for Derek. It was nice to see them again so soon! We had a great breakfast and it was wonderful to hear about how they are doing.
