Students can "...earn certification in certain vocations." or "...earn college credit while gaining hands-on experience." I have found that when students of any age can make choices of what they want to do, they work often more efficiently and the outcome for them is usually more worthwhile than if the students are told specifically what to do. This school system seems to be student centered in their approach to what they offer students. How this School Library increased its student use by 1,000 Percent: http://www.cultofpedagogy.com/school-library/
