According to this article, research says that 10.2 hours is the ideal amount of time to spend on phonemic awareness instruction. After that point, it showed diminishing returns. This study focuses on three types of misrepresentation: hyperbole where the curators exaggerate or sensationalize claims to garner attention, extremity bias where the curator cherry-picks surprising, novel, or extreme events to report, and fair reporting where the curator weighs evidence from two sides of an issue irrespective of where the preponderance of evidence lies.
