Places Visited
One day I took a little walk in North Bennington, Vermont and stopped at Moon Scones for a delicious, organic homemade cookie. It was delicious!
Jon, Rachel, Taran and I met at the Tugboat RoundUp in Waterford, New York. There were tugboats of all kinds to look at and we enjoyed seeing them and listening to the live music. The roundup took place at a lock where we saw it open and close when kayaks and a boat went through. A model of the lock was used to explain how locks work. Taran got his face painted and we had lunch followed by fried dough. It was a perfect day to be outdoors and we enjoyed the event very much!
One day, I took a walk at Lake Paran and took the time to rest while reading a book there. There is a 2-mile walk to the Robert Frost house and although I didn't walk all the way, the walk follows the shore of the lake, so it is a lovely, wooded trail. I enjoyed a couple of hours at Lake Paran on a beautiful fall day.
I got to spend a few days with Noah. We played a board game, cards, and Legos. We also ate lasagna that Bea made, watched YouTube Lego videos, and I got to take him to swim team practice and pick him up from school. It is the first time that I saw his school in person. When I got there, the Burlington-Bristol Bridge was up so a giant barge could go under it and then it was lowered. It was exciting for me to see since I had not seen that happen before. I also went to the factory outlet store for Junior's where I bought a small cheesecake. Most of all, I enjoyed talking with him and hearing about what he is doing and thinking. I had a wonderful time with him!
One day I drove to Monroe, New York and visited my mother's grave as well a few businesses in the area. I had lunch at a QuikStop and managed to order from the screen without incident. The food was OK. I had a nice day looking at the fall leaves and visiting places I knew.
Another day, I took a drive around the area. I visited Covered Bridge Antiques which is a great shop with many interesting things for sale. I also ordered new barstools for my new kitchen island at Old Brick Furniture and Mattress Company in Bennington, Vermont. It was a lovely day to explore and view fall foliage.
