The annual student magazine BirdSleuth Investigator 2017 is available as a free download: http://www.birdsleuth.org/student-publication/. The magazine, from The Cornell Lab of Ornithology, was written and illustrated by students in grades K-12. It explains what the students found in their study of birds in the past year.
There is also a "downloadable unit to help educators guide their students in scientific investigations, from question to conclusion, while meeting science standards." This work can be entered with a chance to be published in next years magazine.
