Games on the Internet for Kids

For fun, interactive, educational activities, check out LearningPlanet.com's Kids Pages. Choose a grade level for a list of elementary games that cover several  subject areas. Language arts games include word searches, crossword puzzles, and a unique "word catching" game called "Rats." You'll need the Shockwave plug-in to play LearningPlanet.com's games.

80's Games and Trivia: http://www.80s.com/Trivia/ lets you select from the homepage select trivia titles such as Manic Medley, Freeze Phrase, and rewind, all geared toward the 80's.  after you register for each game, your score is kept and you can become eligible to win prizes.

In case you have extra time today, you might want to look at Games Domain:  http://www.gamesdomain.com/.  From this site you can retrieve the latest "cheats" for your computer and Nintendo64 games.   Also included are reviews and demo download sites on the latest games. 
Card Games Web site:  http://www.pagat.com/ has hundreds of games.  I didn't check them all out, and by their names, I think you probably should find a game for your students, bookmark it, and then have them play only that game (or more if you spend a lot of time trying them out:)!)

Lycos Games:  http://playsite.lycos.com/ has popular games to play on-line with others around the world who are also on-line.

The Grey Labyrinth:   http://www.greylabyrinth.com/index.htm has math and perceptual puzzles.

The Station:  http://www.station.sony.com/wheel/ has Jeopardy, Wheel-of-Fortune, Trivial Pursuit, and other popular game shows.

Nowwhere: http://www.imagiware.com/nowhere/ is a simulation that is a little complicated to get started on. 

Interactive Web games: http://genesis.ne.mediaone.net/games.html has Battleship, Minesweeper, WebReversi, and WebMaze.

pgo.com is a site with all sorts of board and card games:  http://www.pogo.com/.

Funster multiplayer word games:   http://www.funster.com/ is a selection of word games.  You can chat with other people who are playing.
